![]() Our HistorySomerset’s roots began in 1960 with the founding of Whipple & Company, a certified public accounting firm. Initially, the firm’s core services were tax and bookkeeping. In the mid 1960s, the need for a more comprehensive approach to financial management for our clients was identified and, as the framework for growth became clear, the concept of providing total financial solutions began to develop. Our pattern of growth has continued to this day by developing new areas of expertise and service based on the ever-changing needs of our clients. The firm became Somerset in 1998 and, in the next few years, merged with other local certified public accounting firms McGee, Rice & Wheat and Cox & Brennan. In 2012, Meridian CPAs joined the firm. Our staff consists of certified public accountants, certified management accountants, certified fraud examiners, certified financial forensics, certified financial planners, certified valuation analysts, chartered financial consultants, chartered life underwriters and other professionals who provide assurance, business advisory, employee benefits, financial forensic, information solutions, litigation support, small business, tax, valuation and wealth management services to businesses and individuals. Somerset has industry specialized service groups dedicated to A/E, Construction, Dealerships, Dental, Entrepreneurial, Health Care, Manufacturing and Distribution, Not for Profit and Real Estate. |
