Somerset is proud to employ veterans from all branches of the military. We recognize the mutually beneficial opportunity of veterans returning to the USA; they need to find an employer willing to give them an opportunity at furthering their career on American soil, and an Indiana employer gains a loyal, dedicated, hardworking employee.

Indiana’s Next Level Veterans is an initiative program bringing together the public and private sectors to connect military personnel to Indiana employers. The program, launched in January of 2018, provides a one-stop-shop for veterans across the nation who are looking for information on jobs, training, housing and career development in the Hoosier state.

With thousands of service men and women leaving the military each year, more than half of them face a period of unemployment. At the same time, employers across Indiana struggle with finding enough talent. With approximately 85,000 unfilled jobs across the state, it seems a like win-win opportunity for companies seeking workers with a skill and strong work ethic to fill these career openings with armed forces personnel. Indiana’s Governor Eric Holcomb and Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch unveiled Indiana’s Next Level Veterans initiative. “Indiana wants veterans from within Indiana and from out of state to know they are welcome here and that Indiana is a prosperous place where employers are eager for their skills and talent,” Lt. Gov. Crouch said. “I am inspired by the work our state agencies and partners have done to create a positive future for veterans.”
