The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) on May 15 issued a blog advising individual income taxpayers to do a withholding check-up, especially if they owed taxes this year. The DOR explains withholding starts with Form W-4, which is filled out when a taxpayer starts working at a company and can be adjusted. The form asks for basic information and helps in calculating exemptions.  Adjusting exemptions is one way “taxpayers can change the outcome of their tax return for the next taxable year.” [Indiana Department of Revenue, Tax Talk Blog, 05/15/19] Please see your Somerset advisor if we can assist in evaluating your Federal or state withholdings.
