The State of Indiana is making a concentrated effort to provide funds to employers and potential employees to educate and upskill Hoosiers. Two million Hoosiers need additional training to compete in the workforce which projects there being over 1 million job openings in Indiana by 2025. A program started in part by Governor Holcomb is available to assist employers and employees new to a trade pay for educating employees in the industries of advanced manufacturing, building and construction, IT and business services, health and life sciences and transportation and logistics. The Next Level Jobs initiative pays for tuition-free certificates in these high-demand sectors.

The application can be completed on line within 5 minutes. The Indiana Department of Workforce Development will review the application, contact your HR department to obtain jobs descriptions, salary ranges and draft a training grant agreement.
One the agreement is drafted and signed, you begin to training your workforce and retain those newly skilled employees for 6 months. Subsequent to 6 months, your company can be reimbursed for the training costs of new skills up to $5,000 per employee with a maximum of $50,000 training reimbursement.
